Czech MCM Gold Striped Smoked Glass Decanter Set w/4 glasses
Czech MCM Gold Striped Smoked Glass Decanter Set w/4 glasses
Vintage Barware Set, bottle made in the Bohemia glass region of Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic).
This is a wonderful, hand-blown vintage Bohemian decanter set in a MCM/art deco revival style from the 1950’s to 1960’s period. It includes a tall decanter with a solid glass stopper and four glasses that can be used for sherry or brandy.
The decanter set is of blown thick smoky gray glass and is stripped with 3 gold gilded stripes and 4 satin finish gray strips. The glass stopper is of the same thick smoky gray glass as the decanter. The matching glasses are stripped with 4 gold gilding stripes and one satin finish gray stripe. This decanter set is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is no noticeable gilt wear, the gilded gold stripes are very thick and sharp.
The decanter measures 8-5/16“ at the widest point by 11-11/16“ tall with the ground glass stopper and 8-15/16’ tall without the stopper. It holds about 24 oz of liquid. Each glass measures ~2” at the widest point by ~2-3/8" tall and holds about 1oz. of liquid and 1.7oz when filled to the brim.
